Stained glass design/illustration

My designs for the stained glass windows of Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College chapel were planned and developed in the early 1990s and completed in 1994/5. The Biblical theme of Creation in the book of Genesis inspired the artwork for the two 10’ by 2’6” high window panels. The examples of artwork show development from scale drawings to stained glasswork based on watercolour paintings of underwater and woodland scenes. Final work was carried out at the studio of Richard Brown who also provided tuition in glass techniques.

An earlier design project for Holocaust themed Stations of the Cross was displayed in the Crypt chapel of Worcester Cathedral in spring 1987. Fifteen framed calligraphic illustrations were exhibited (examples shown below)These combined texts from the Book of Psalms with drawings and watercolours inspired by imagery from the Holocaust period.
